Fact Monster / Harry Potter

When do you think the Harry Potter books take place? Why not vote on this website. You can also test your knowledge of Harry Potter using the Quiz on Fantastic Beasts, or Quidditch. This site is a must for any Harry Potter fans.

Lego

It's a great site for younger children and it provides lots of games and the opportunity to join the Lego Club - however parents be warned - there are lots of sales links.

Crayola

This website is split into 3 sections - parents, educators and children. You can print off pictures for children to colour in, play games, go round the Crayola website. Brilliant for a rainy day !

Disney

Excellent Disney site - can be a bit slow to load - Learn to draw, jokes of the day, film reviews, activity pages, games - great for younger children.

BBC

Provides some fun sites especially for younger children. Includes links to sites such as Teletubbies and The Tweenies.

Safesurf

Links to sites that are all "kidsafe", there are some good links although is is very Americanised and some are just a bit too "sickly" such as the link to "Moms Cookie Recipe"

Internet resources to help you to complete your homework assignments. There are over 5000 carefully selected resources to assist with your homework problems!

Homework High

This is part of Channel 4's website which has been designed to help children with homework. It is broken down into subject areas. You can send your homework questions to Channel 4 "experts" who try and provide answers by the end of the day.

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory

Excellent site for Willy Wonka fans - includes games, free screensavers, joke of the day.

Star Child / NASA

For children who are interested in the solar system this site is brilliant. It can be a bit slow to load but has a lot of information that is easy to read and understand.

Yahooligans

This is a search engine that has been launched by Yahoo and is especially for children. Has links to Daily News, Jokes, Sports, Games and Screensavers. Very Americanised though.

This site has art products and resources for people interested in art. There are sections on Creating Art, Studying Art, Art Games and Teaching Art.

Fact Monster Homework Centre

Provides no-nonsense advice on note taking, studying for tests and reading textbooks. Also has links to Writing skills as well as Speaking and Listening skills.

This is The Guardian newspapers site and it provides lessons and information on a wide variety of subjects. The site is broken down initially by age range and then into subject areas. Lessons are broken down into modules and can be worked through at your own pace. At the end of the module is a "recap session"

This site is for young people and adults with any kind of disability in post-16 education, training and employment across the UK. This is the Department for Education and Skills website and provides information and advice on education and training choices for young people It's not the most exciting site around, however the information is useful and relevant.

Join the CLC

Once you've registered with the Centre, you can use its facilities at any time. There are three steps to registering.

  • Read our Code of Practice, which you must stick to when you're using the Centre.
  • Print out the student registration letter and ask your parents to read and sign it.
  • Take the student registration letter to your school office to have it stamped.

Then return the form to the Centre (the address is at the top of the letter).
